Seventeen arrested for gambling in Đồng Nai

ĐỒNG NAI — Police in the southern province of Đồng Nai arrested  一 七 people for gambling  in a melaleuca forest in Biên Hoà City’s Tân Hoà Ward at  四pm on Sunday.

The police also seized hundreds of millions of đồng at the scene.

Following the police investigation, Nguyễn Thanh Phong,  三 七, of Biên Hoà City, was identified as the ringleader.

Phong organised gambling events in the forest to avoid attention from the police.

Phong admitted that he hired several local men to guard the areas as well as bringing the gamblers from their home every day. The gamblers would congregate at  三- 五pm daily.
